Ruffa mum on Shaina call, reveals all is well with Kris

  • After confirming that Shaina Magdayao indeed called her one early morning, Ruffa Gutierrez has chosen not to further comment on the incident.
Last week, reports circulated that Ruffa received a 2:00 A.M. call from Shaina to discuss the latter's boyfriend, John Lloyd Cruz. Ruffa had been romantically linked to the Kapamilya actor two years ago after they worked together in the ABS-CBN primetime series "I Love Betty La Fea."
ABS-CBN talent arm Star Magic, which manages the show biz careers of Shaina and John Lloyd, confirmed that the conversation between the two actresses did occur.
"Yes it's true. Both ladies had a very private and cordial talk," Star Magic said in a statement.
Ruffa said it has been agreed upon that both parties will no longer comment on the issue.
"Yes that's true...I would like to take the high road and not talk about it, at isipin na lang ng mga tao kung anong gusto nila isipin basta ang importante para sa akin, I'm happy and walang problema sa akin," Ruffa said in an interview with ABS-CBN's "The Buzz" on Sunday, January 30.
The TV host-actress also said she will continue to have a "positive outlook" as a result of the incident, claiming she was just on the receiving end of the controversial call.
"Oo paulit-ulit na lang. Siguro this 2011 I just want to continue being happy, continue being positive about my life. Ako naman po ang tinawagan, tanungin niyo na lang sila. Basta ako, yung pinag-usapan namin private na lang yun, hopefully it remains that way and sana yung ibang tao kung anong sinabi ng management nila wag na nilang dagdagan pa kasi nag-usap na kami at we're gonna keep quiet about the issue," Ruffa added during her interview with "The Buzz."
    On Kris Aquino
On a happy note, Ruffa revealed that she is now on speaking terms with Kris Aquino.
Ruffa related that she and Kris had a chance meeting at Resorts World in Pasay City.
"Nagkita kami last week sa birthday party ng friend ko," Ruffa said. "She (Kris) hosted a dinner sa Opus sa Resorts World and tamang tama yung friend ko sinabi nandiyan daw si Ai Ai (delas Alas). Hinanap ko si Ai Ai (tapos) nandiyan lang (pala siya) sa likod ko. Talon, tili kami ni Ai Ai. Chika chika. Paglingon kong ganyan ay nandiyan na nga si Kris. Sabi ko, 'Hi Kris!' sabi naman niya, 'Hi!'
Ruffa said Kris was "sincere" when they talked.
"Alam kong sincere siya. You know naman how frank Kris is. Kung ayaw niya akong i-‘Hi' pwede naman niya talikuran ako, pwede naman siyang um-escape. Pero she really said ‘Hi' to me. Sabi ko, 'Hoy, bati na tayo ha? Hindi ka na galit sa 'kin? Sabi niya 'No!' So ibig sabihin hindi siya galit sa ‘kin," a beaming Ruffa said in a taped interview aired on "The Buzz."
Ruffa and Kris, both former mainstays of "The Buzz," had a falling out in March 2010 after Kris made an on-air comment against Ruffa over her transfer to rival talk show "Paparazzi" on TV5 as they were talking face-to-face in a segment on the program. Ruffa stormed out of the set during a commercial break and began a verbal tirade that spilled over to another rival show, "Showbiz Central," wherein her mother Annabelle Rama launched a gritty on-air assault against Kris.
While Kris had apologized over her comments and Ruffa accepted, they had not fully settled the issue. Nearly a year after the incident, it appears all is well between Kris and Ruffa.
    "Okay na kami," Ruffa concluded.
